Tamlingos

So our daughter loves to get a notebook and do question and answer time with the family. She will ask totally random question and then ask you how to spell the answers and she dutifully writes them down. This morning she was asking me what different animals like to eat, so it went something like this.

"Mommy, what do bears like to eat?"

"They like fish."

How do you spell fish?"

"F-I-S-H"

"Okay, I got it, F-I-S-H"

"Mommy, what do monkeys like to eat?"

"They like bananas"

"Mommy how do you spell bananas?"

"B-A-N-A-N-A-S"

"Mommy, what do tamlingos like to eat?"

"I don't know what tamlingos are honey?"

"Yes you do Mommy, TAM-LING-GOS. (she repeated very slowly, I guess to help me understand. "

"Honey, I really don't know what a Tam-ling-go is." (at this point I am thinking, I am fixin' to be set straight by my 4yr old. Cause bless her heart, she is dumbfounded as to why her Mom does not know what a Tam-ling-go is. I brace myself for the "Diego" lecture or maybe the "Bindi the Jungle Girl" lecture when she suddenly looks at me and says,

"Oh. Mommy I am so silly, I meant what do FLA-MING-GOS eat."

Whew, at least for today, I am smarter than Diego and Bindi.

But, there is always tomorrow.
