Weekend Warriors

What a weekend. Let me tell you first off that I have so much to tell you. The first of which is so hilarious, that it has pained me to not a have enough time over the weekend to get this into cyberspace. My previous post was all about my husbands frustrations with ties. I have gone back read it a few more times, and I laugh at how funny that moment was. But, alas, I have found the answer!!! They have these ties called "zipper ties". Now, before you go off and think about "zip" ties, let me assure you that these are safe. They are simply pre-knotted with a zipper contraption that creates the neck loop. If you have a man who is perfect in every way, but needs some assisstance in the tie knotting area, you should indulge. I found them at the local department store for $25 and even Walmart carried them, for a much more friendly price of $8.98. So I bought two, but will take one back because I found them on the internet in long length, which will suit him better. Problem solved!!!

On to the next weekend adventure. The whole reason my husband needed a tie was for the Father/Daughter Sweetheart Dance. Our van was in the shop(that's another story) so I went with them and dropped them off. Our boys also had plans to spend the night with a friend, so I was footloose and fancy free. Ofcourse my plan was to go grocery shopping and to Sam's Club. I, know big night on the town!!! Then it hit me, I can go grocery shopping anytime, but how often can I sneek away and go to a movie all by myself? NEVER!!! So I detoured, and headed for the only theatre in our city. Wouldn't you know that the only movie I wanted to see didn't start till 9:30, and the very distant second choice was already sold out!!! What is a mom to do? So, I walked around the mall, which I hate doing on a Friday night and bought the boys their Easter shirts, and a few other essentials. And then I got hungry and decided to head to the food court on my way out. After checking out my options, I did what any mother of three would do for dinner. I broke ALL the rules and had a MILKSHAKE for dinner. It was so yummy. FYI, Chik-fil-A has the best shakes hand down. The rest of my night was totally boring, I gave in and went to Walmart. Which is almost worse without kids because since I am not consumed with keeping them in-line and trying to get out as quick as possible I end up wandering the aisles in a kidless stooper. Two hours later I am in the autoparts section wondering ,"why am I standing here?"

One of these days, I will master the kidless evening. Until then, I still have to head to Sams, but I am sure it will be a quick one since I will have all three in tow.
